Michele Brandstetter is an Italian cinematographer based in Milan, working across high-end commercial production, drama series and feature films.
His narrative credits include the RAI/Raiplay drama series **HYPE** (2025, dir. Fabio Mollo & Domenico Croce), the feature film **SQUALI** (2024, dir. Alberto Rizzi), and the Netflix series **CURON** (2020, dir. Fabio Mollo & Lyda Patitucci, Indiana Production). He served as cinematographer on the virtual production feature **Holiday on Mars** (2020, dir. Neri Parenti, Indiana Production) — one of the first Italian feature films shot on a virtual LED stage.
In commercial work, Michele has shot for Bvlgari, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Ferrero, Lavazza, and Samsung, among others. He is an **ARRI-featured cinematographer** and his work for Bvlgari is included in the **Cooke Optics Gallery of Cinematic Excellence**.
His short film and music video work has been recognized at international festivals including the **Austria International Film Festival**, the **NYC Indie Film Awards**, the **Amsterdam Film Festival**, and the **Bokeh South African Fashion Film Festival**. He received a **Vimeo Staff Pick** for the short film *Birthday* (dir. Pietro Malegori).
Michele studied at the **Global Cinematography Institute** in Los Angeles and holds a Masters degree in Performing Arts & Multimedia Technologies from the Università di Ferrara. He is an active member of the **Collettivo Chiaroscuro (CCS)**.
